UNU-IAS presented the co-benefits tools in the Seminar on Low Carbon City Development

UNU-IAS participated in a seminar on low carbon city development organised by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (TGO) as part of their Partnership for Market Readiness activities supported by the World Bank. The event held in Bangkok on 29 March 2015 brought together experts from Japan and Korea to explore methodologies and tools related to low carbon city development and was attended by representatives of 25 municipalities from around Thailand.

Dr. Christopher Doll was invited to present work on the UNU-IAS co-benefits tool, which uses  a sector based framework to assess emission reductions using a series of policy based scenarios combined with decision making tool for use at the city level.  The invited speakers also gave feedback to the TGO on their planned activities within their Low Carbon City Program in a session the following day.  The seminar was an opportunity to showcase the tools to a national implementing body with the prospect of wider use in the future.
